Palm Springs Estate

The Best Memorial Day Weekend Entertainment!

This will be a different and fun kind of sale. We will be displaying and selling in two large tents. The sale will be held on the grounds of the former famous Southern California pioneer’s home, Newhall family, estate built in 1921. Reportedly, the Newhall family, having lived on the coast of Spain for a season, had named the estate ‘La Chureya’ meaning ‘a roadrunner chickadee’.  In league with its romantic name, this beautiful Spanish style casita is placed on grounds dotted with palm trees and expansive green lawns.  The house will not be open to the public, but we have emptied nine storage units of items formerly embellishing the famous Orchid Tree Inn, opened in the 1930’s and displayed into 1600 sq. feet of tenting. The last owners of the hotel, hoteliers from 1986 to 2005, have stored many of the hotel’s furnishings and memorabilia since the Hotel’s closing.  These items are now for sale.

The following list will not be in any order, nor will it reflect the volume of this sale. There are too many boxes that we have not yet opened and we will be surprised and excited too at what you and we will discover.
