For those of you who missed buying all those treasures from sales we’ve had in Westlake, Beverly Hills, Studio City to Woodland Hills; we have good news! Many of those items were not donated but retained for another sale. This is the 50% off sale on most of it! It all has to go! They have been stored in our storage and we are selling them next weekend. Be sure to get to this sale, as the prices are lowered on everything. Starting at the reduced prices, we bargain from there.

There is also many fine furnishings left from the former assistant superintendent of LAUSD. Many did not sell, but they are still available. She moved in in 1960 and has lived there ever since. All the superfluous pieces have removed and donated. There is 1920s mahogany furniture pcs., lamps, paintings. We have cleaned out our storage and we need to let these things be sold this weekend.

Many clients’ possessions included is the collection of Jack Ferges, animator, from 1940’s-1980’s at Walt Disney Studios. He helped begin Disney Imagineering in Los Angeles and Florida with Blaine Gibson and the WED crew. Personal cartoons, watercolors, photos, & memorabilia. PLEASE NOTE THE ENTIRE COLLECTION WAS SOLD ON SATURDAY!

Also, three fabulous 4′-5′ long framed photo murals from and by Stan Jolley, he was a movie set director for Caddyshack, Witness, Taps & so much more. We did a sale for him in Rancho Mirage at his 22,000 sq. ft. compound. It is a career history with famous actors, directors, Walt Disney and even his roles in films he was an actor. He worked with Disney in the early 50’s with Herb Ryman in helping to design Disneyland. From Zorro to Elfego Baca and many other productions he was involved. His Dad was E. Stanford Jolley. A well-known face for the vintage movie goers from westerns to gangsters and a 75th birthday framed homemade card. Really two talented men from the same family.

Many years ago, we did a private sale for the former home of Norma Talmadge, the silent movie actress, who was in films from 1910 to the advent of the talkies in 1929-1930. She was married to Joseph Schenck, an early executive MGM New York in 1917 during WWI. Soon after, moving to California, they lived in ‘The Cedars’ or the estate they used in the film ‘Easy Rider’ on Cedarhurst Drive. There were many items there belonging to the couple and we sold them for the owner at the time there some 18 yrs. ago. This home in Los Feliz contains pieces that we sold there. Those items are an 8’-9’ tall floor Eastlake mirror, and a 32” stone Corinthian column (owned by Norma Talmadge), a pr. of crystal floor ash trays, & a pr. of crystal lamps (owned by owners after her residency there)…all original from the Cedars house and left through several owners. Terrific Hollywood History!

The rest of this sale is filled with gorgeous things from years of collecting, painting & decorating. There are two antique swords and a dagger. Swords are Toledo, Spain an ornamental without scabbard. The other is a gorgeous and intimidating Japanese Samurai sword with scabbard. The dagger looks like it is Moroccan. All collectible and pricey.

The current owners are retaining their home and it is NOT for sale. Their art includes oil paintings and acrylics American, Eastern European artists and European artists: homeowner & film designer Lubo Hristov, P. Mitkov, Andrej Janev GEV, Plamen, A. Boyer, Ralisa, Gepthohkat, another Icon & Cohn. There is a 36″ patinated plaster woman violinist, a woman statue and a C.Hess 1975 Model T Jalopy #17 copper statue.

Their friend and client added some lovely Asian & South American pieces today. Those items are  Malachite figurines from So. America–a skull figurine, offering bowl on stand & 2 carved stone pendants. There are 19th-20th C. signed opium bottles in bone & wood, cinnabar, bejeweled stones, porcelain (no stopper), enamels, & a fabulous amber bottle w/silver overlay (no stopper). Also, 3″ miniature Geishas vase w/view turner,  3″white jade horse & monkey figurine on base, pr. antique & signed Chinese incense burners, vintage reproduction Chinese gilt temple bowl w/4 feet, a stunning yellow jade w/freshwater pearls necklace, 18″ carved stone tusk w/Chinese noblemen, 19th C. 5″ Chinese tea pot, Kwan Lin amber figurine, carved turquoise block Chinese figurine, fine signed vintage ceramic bowl.

Yellow soapstone pieces include– Chinese woman nobility figurine & nude Chinese sea woman figurine.
